What David Had to Say about COVID-19

This blog post is for everyone who feels scared, terrified or frightened about the occurrences happening all over the world, especially believers.

Yes, believers.

One thing I want every believer to know is this: don’t let anyone guilt trip you into forming unafraid because you are a believer, and believers are not supposed to be afraid.

See, if you are afraid, you had better avoid self-deceit, and tell yourself you are afraid. God already knows that you are scared anyways. So you have got nothing else to lose. Stop trying to prove to people that you are a standard believer, whatever that means.

Also, you will not be able to receive the message in this post with all your heart if you refuse to be vulnerable with God, so He can see your heart and deliver you from your fears.

This brings me to what King David had to say about fear, the spirit COVID -19 came with, in the Word of God:

Psalms 34:4 (NIV): I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

Look at that. Yes, King David believed in God, and still had his fears, many fears. But look at his testimony. He didn’t try to hide the fact that he was afraid, which was why he was able to testify that the Lord delivered, emphasis on DELIVERED, him from ALL, (not some) his fears.

God is still in the business of delivering His children from the spirit of fear, the demonic spirit that is trying to hold the children of God captive in these times.  God can deliver you from the fear of COVID -19 if you allow Him to.

How do I know that fear is a spirit. The answer is right there in 2 Tim. 1:7 (NKJV) : For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

If God has not given us the spirit of fear, why then are you so afraid?

I am going to tell you why you are afraid, and how you can allow God deliver you from that fear.

You are afraid because you are not seeking the Lord. You are seeking the media instead for more information on coronavirus. See what David did in Psalms 34: 4, He sought the LORD first before his deliverance came.

If you do not seek the Lord, you will not know how to live unafraid, you will not have a spiritual understanding/revelation of the spirit of power, love and sound mind that has been given to you by God.

If your FOCUS is on more news on coronavirus from the media, then expect to be held captive by the spirit of fear because what you focus on magnifies, it gets bigger.

How then can you let God deliver you from your fears?

It’s simple, even though we underestimate the power of this simple act.

Start to look at what the Word of God says instead of what the media says. And I have a couple of scriptures to help you. But you need to meditate on these scriptures till they become realer than coronavirus, till they become flesh.

Quoting scriptures from your head alone will not help you. You need to let the scriptures sink into your heart, and only the Holy Spirit can help you with that.

I am going to start with a scripture God gave me right after I listened to a live stream broadcast by Mrs Debola Deji-Kurunmi. You can click HERE to watch it. You will not regret it, I promise.

Proverbs 18:10 (NLT): The name of the LORD is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe.

The name of the Lord is a place I can always be assured of safety, and thankfully, anywhere I go, I go in the name of the Lord. So this strong fortress isn’t restricted by my location. How cool?

Isaiah 26:3 (NLT): You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!

This scripture legit shows us how to be peaceful in the midst of chaos, by fixing our THOUGHTS on God, not what the media is feeding us.

Psalms 46:1-2 (NKJV): God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.

Profound words! Don’t you think so? Even though the earth be removed and everywhere is in chaos, we are not afraid because GOD is our refuge and strength, a very PRESENT help, not a PAST help guys. He is very PRESENT even right now.

There are so many scriptures, BUT I will like you to share yours as well in the comment section.

Before I sign out, I’d like to share this confession I took early this morning with you. It’s an excerpt from a great book titled KINGDOM OF WORDS by Mrs Debola Deji-Kurunmi aka DDK (you should get this book. Let me know in the comment section if you are interested).

Here goes:

Oh my Father, who is in heaven. Your arms are a strong protection for me in the day of trouble, Your eyes watch over me wherever I travel in all the earth. You keep me engraved in the palm of your hands and You gather me into Your loving warmth as Your very own! In Your covering You hide me from the destruction that flies at noonday.

Thank you for visiting today!! Super excited to have you here. Please, kindly share this post and subscribe to receive more amazing blog posts like this one in your mail box.

  1. Psalms 1
He that dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in Him will I trust. Surely He shall deliver me from the snares of the fowler and from the noise some pestilence……….

    Thanks so much Oshams❤️
